NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship episodes - final match

Here is the final match of the NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship for 2009. You sort of feel for Huck Seed, while he goes on to win the big news to come out of this tournament was Vanessa Rousso advancing to the finals. Week 5 brings the Quarterfinals Week 4 brings the final 16 players and heated action.

NBC Heads Up Championship Week 3

The third weekend is the actually the second round of the event, meaning the final 32 participants. Once again Don Cheadle has advanced to this round and so has Brad Garrett. The second weekend will feature the other two brackets of 32 poker players vying for poker immortality. You can watch the show live on Sunday or we will post them once they come online. To NBC's credit they do a great job of getting their programming out there as fast as possible. The heads up format allows players to show off their "short handed" game and players that normally do well in tournaments sometimes struggle heads up.  Two noted players that have done well since the inception of the event in 2005 are Huck Seed and Scott Fischman.  Phil Hellmuth returns, you might recall a few years back he missed this event to attend an event in Europe (presumably he was paid a lot of money by some sponsor to do so).

This weekend marks the first shows for NBC's National Heads Up Poker Championship. While we covered it as it was being played live that should not stop everyone from enjoying the shows as they play out. The 2009 version of the show starts off with 64 combatants and a lot of intrigue along the way. Featured tables are Daniel Negreanu vs. Chris Moneymaker, Dario Minieri vs. Mike Matusow, Phil Hellmuth vs. Mike Sexton and Chris Ferguson vs. Gabe Kaplan.
