poker players on tilt

There has been a lot written about how to avoid tilt or controlling your bankroll. This article is not one of those. It occurred to me after talking to a friend that tilt is universal. Let me give some examples:

1. Have you ever found yourself playing 2 people better than you where the only big pots were ones you lost?

2. Have you ever listened to the birds tweeting outside knowing that the minute you quit the game is done?

3. Have you ever felt a numbness that only gamblers know where you have gambled outside of your comfort level and the only solace you can muster is that you are an "OK' guy?

4. Have you ever stuck around when someone tells someone else that they are hoping to keep things heads up (that one happened to me today).

5. Have you ever looked at that watch you bought after that big tournament score and wonder what it would garner on ebay?

6. Have you ever bought yourself the best dinner possible just to remind yourself that you are not a broke loser?

7. Have you ever transferred the balance of your account to a friend and asked him to hold it for a while? It has been a while since I have needed to win at poker but I certainly do not like embarrassing myself either. But I do it. We all do it. Hopefully just not too often.
