A proper introduction - Who is EvilGenius?

Hello everyone!

Just signed up here and figured I could start out with a proper introduction of myself as my first step towards this community.

My name is Marcus, I am a 21 year old guy living in sweden. I spend most of my days at work painting veichles and dreaming about beating Phil Ivey playing heads up. My poker-experience is not big. I have just been playing for a few months but I feel that I made some progress. My biggest achievment would be finishing in the top 300 in a tournament with 15 000 people. Though, it was a satellite so I didn't get payed anything.

I mainly play low stakes. I am confident in my play, but I have a few big leaks that ruins it for me.

- Bad Patience, if I only play one table and dont get pp or high cards every hand I will get bored and start playing stupid

- Gambling habits, I like to gamble and sometimes that shows in my game. I might go all in just because I have a 50/50 chance to double up.

I just recently got rid of two other big leaks, defending chips that are lost and bluffing to much. Actually played a tournament two days ago and after getting out on a bad beat I didn't feel bad at all because I knew that I didn't do a single wrong play that game. That was a great feeling.

I am here at bluff.com to raise my game. Given the opportunity to get a starting bank-roll and requierments on how to play should be good for my game. I will have to think twice about my play in order to be able to get the bankroll. At the same time I will be able to analyse my game deeper than I have done before.

I believe thats about it, if you are curious about anything, feel free to ask!

Best Regards

I haven't had time to check PowerTools out just yet, but will do so tonight.

I would be interested in your feedback on how hard or easy it is to do given the instructions.  That is the one part we have difficulty getting people to complete and so it would be nice to get some feedback as to why this might be.

Hey it's great to have you here.  I am really liking the way our community is shaping up.  I think you'll find that people here actually care about each other and want to help others improve.  It's like the total opposite of every other poker forum I've visited.

Good luck at the tables, I'm looking forward to seeing some of your sessions and talking strategy with you.

Beanie>> I will apply for one of the bankrolls now, so I'll come back with feedback as soon as I am done.

So, I have applied for the Doyels Room bankroll now and here is my comments on the registration process.

1. I think that the amount of text might scare some people away. Maybe add a bold, red text on top saying "This process only takes about 10 minutes".

2. It is a little bit complicated. I assume many people are afraid of installing the software and are used to just typing a bonuscode and get the money instantly

Some things that you might change is:

- Adding the red text I talked about
- Changing the text You MUST come back to Bluff.com and fill out your user profile. The link goes to the actual user profile, while you need to click in navigation to the left to change it. It took me a few minutes to realize this.
-  Doyle's Room Screen Name? Is it the Screen name or the login name you want? Got a bit confused, maybe it's possible to clarify?

And thats about it. Waiting for my 10$ at the moment. I think that a big reason why people don't sign up is because they expect to get 100$ to gamble away right away. But if Im not wrong, your not looking for that kind of people anyway.

1.  Interesting feedback.

2.  We are going to a download page, I think that will help.  Right now it just goes straight to download and I think that feels a bit weird to some people.  I know it would feel weird to me if I had no history with a site.  Obviously as we become better known some of this will change.

3.  I don't understand your point about the user profile, as long as you are signed in that link should indeed bring you to your user profile page.  At the very least I changed the Absolute Poker page and will do something similar.  I will also sign up for a new account to see if I can understand your point there.

4.  The login name/username thing is annoying I agree.  Turns out it should be login name, though I can make both work.

5.  I actually don't think they are looking for $100 it seems the big hurdle for most people is the powertools thing.  I do however think you are dead on, most people want the money and not so much the training, so the minute things get difficult they just drop it.

Your insight was very valuable, I appreciate it very much.
