Bankroll Advice on Short Stacking

Okay now that I know we're trying to do short stack strats ..

How am I handling a bankroll while short stacking? How many 20 big blind buyin's do I need? At how many Big Blinds do we leave the table? Just trying to figure out what level I should be doing when I have gotten up to a $140 bankroll.

I would say if you are buying in for $4 and you get to $8 then leave, if you get to $7.50 as an example, you should probably leave as well. Think of it conserving your wins. I would say at $160 I would move up to .10-.20, that will give you 20 buyins and don't fall back unless you lose 5 (so your bankroll would fall to $120). I have a buddy that is a short stack ninja, I will see if I can get him to post.

I'm thinking more from a math standpoint than locking in profit if you get up to almost 40bb(you were talking about $4 at .05/.10NL), your certainly not short stacking anymore. If your jamming with 80BB people are far less likely to call with weak holdings, than if you have 40BB(or ideally 20BB where someone reasons "that's not much to call with my 7-8suited..").

Isn't $4 the minimum you can buy in for, what am I missing?

here is a good article that I found- http://mypokerprogress.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=58 You can play for a min of 20BB on cake and full tilt poker, at least at the .01/.02,.02/.04,.05/.10 level. I'm sure you still have to increase the bankroll for more tables, not sure how much though. This makes it possible to have a bankroll of 25 buyins with $10 on full tilt to start off, still a chance of going busto, but at least it's more of a proper roll-well as much as $10 can be a proper roll-

I trying to play SSS this is my game plan follow if you like. Have to amend this post as on UB the min buy in is 40BB with Max of 200BB

Stakes                Sit Down at the table with/         Rebuy/Top up if you drop below            Leave table at

Every Limit             20 Big Blinds/40 BB                      Less than 15 Big Blinds             double your buy in

NL2 (.01/.02)                  .40 /.80                                       .30 /.60                               .80 / 1.60

NL4 (.02/.04)                  .80 / 1.60                                    .60 / 1.20                           1.60 / 3.20

NL10 (.05/.10)               2.00 / 4.00                                   1.50 / 3.00                          4.00 / 8.00

NL25 (.10/25)               5.00 / 10.00                                   3.75 / 8.50                        10.00 / 20.00

NL50(.25/.50)                 10 / 20                                        7.50 / 16                               20 / 40

Play extremely tight, from

Early Position only play JJ, QQ,KK,AA, AK.

Middle position 99, TT, JJ, QQ, KK, AA, AQ, AK

Late Position 77, 88, 99, TT, JJ, QQ, KK, AA, KQ, AJ, AQ, AK

Basically play fold'em poker, can be really boring but add multitabling to increase enjoyment.

As far as following proper bankroll management.

NL2 with the starting $10 move upto NL4 when you reach $25,

NL4 with $25 move up to NL10 when you reach $50, move back down to NL2 if you bankroll gets to $10

NL10 with $50 move up to NL25 when you reach $150 If you drop below $50 move down

NL25  starting with $150, play this limit till you reach $300 again any downswing drop down a level if you get below $100 move to NL10

NL50 starting at $300 bankroll, play this until you have $600, If you start losing and your bankroll gets to $150 you need to move down to NL25

Well that's how I plan to short stacking, Its really not my strategy, I take no credit for this info. google is your best friend if you need info. Plenty out there.

Good luck and if I'm at your table just fold cause I have the nuts.

Because UB is 40 big blinds min I find this bankroll building table does not work it is more geared towards a min buyin of 20BB so for anysite with 40BB min I will use this and only post limits UB supports.

NL2 starting $10 move to NL10 with Min $80 prefer $100 to be safe

NL10 starting with $80-$100 play this limit till you have $300, move back to NL2 if I drop below $50

NL25 starting with $300 play this until you have $600, move back down to NL10 if you drop below $150

NL50 starting with $600 play this until you have $1200, move back down to NL25 if you drop down to $300
