Bluffware - I cant download the update

I get this error when i try to update my bluffware : Insufficient permissions to copy files to the folder "C:\Program Files\Bluffware"

Should i just uninstall it and download it again. that will probably work i think but i thought i'd just post this.

Thanks for the report.  I haven't seen this yet.  Are you running Vista?  I think it probably has to do with UAC.  You can try running Bluffware as Administrator (just for the first run to apply the update), or, like you mentioned, uninstall and reinstall.

I'll open a ticket to track the issue and investigate whether there is a better solution.

I'm having the same problem (same error), but when my son gets home I'll have him uninstall and reinstall and see what happens then. I can still use the older version thou will the hands carry over to the newer version?

Try right-clicking the icon, then select "run as Administrator".  The problem is that it's installed to your Program Files folder, and the folder is restricted to only be written to from a privileged account.

I've been in touch with the vendor of our update framework, and I've received information to include a fix in our next update which will prompt you to elevate privileges when a new update is available.  For now, the right click > run as Admin, or uninstalling and reinstalling should do the trick.

To answer your question though, yes, your hands are still safely stored.
