I wanted to post a quick thread to try to assist anyone having any issues with Powertools (which is the application designed to automatically upload your hands into your personal database on bluff.com). The basic process to get up and running with Powertools is as follows:
- Download the application by clicking the Download tab in our nav bar in the site header.
- Run the installer.
- Run the application (via either the shortcut from your desktop, or Start -> Applications -> Bluff.com -> Powertools)
- Click the Preferences tab and enter your email address and password that you used to create your Bluff.com account. These are the same credentials you use to login to the website itself. The login box should disappear and indicate that you have been successfully authenticated.
- Click the Auto-Discover button to have Powertools search in pre-configured locations for your HH directories. If you've set your HH directory to anything besides the client defaults then you may have to manually add these.
- Click the Stats tab, and if properly configured and running you should see the # of hands and net ($) won statistics update in near realtime while playing.
Powertools will run in your System Tray (bottom right by default) when you minimize it -- so click its icon there to maximize it again.
If you have followed all of these instructions, or if the application fails before you can complete the steps, please send me a detailed PM with any error messages you receive. You can email attachments to support@bluff.com -- screenshots of any error messages, the "bluff.log" file from the Powertools folder (which can sometimes contain helpful log messages to help us troubleshoot -- but you'll need to enable logging in the Preferences tab first) or any other information you think is relevant.
Powertools requires the .NET Framework (version 3.5) so you might want to confirm you have that installed. If you don't, the installer should help you download and install it, but it couldn't hurt to do this yourself. Download from Microsoft.
Remember that we are in beta and you are some of the very first users to use this application, so please be patient with us while we continue to work to test and perfect the product. Thank you.
