Trifen22 Blogging!

Introduction:

Hello my fellow Bluffers.  First of all I would really like to thank bluff.com to give me a free 10 dollars on UltimateBet! It's really appreciated.

I have never blogged before and I might suck at it, I just feel like I have to share my story since Bluff made this possible for me :-)

My name is Thomas Verkerk, I'm from Holland. I love in Dordrecht (close to Rotterdam)  and  I share the passion we all have:  Playing the beautiful game of Poker. I have been playing poker for about 2 years now,  mostly on stars, and lately i've tried Full tilt and Titan, now I'm @ UB with my bluffdollars.

As you should have noticed right now, English is not my mother language. sorry for any GRAMMER MISTCAKES. haha get it.. damn I suck...

I would like to give you guys a track on how I'm doing with my 10 dollars.

I would like to try to build my bankroll with 2 game styles:

Short Stack Strategy  on the 0.01/0.02 tables  and Fixed Limit on the 0.02/0.04 tables.

I would love to play a SnG every now and than but it's pretty plain and simple:  My bankroll doesn't allow me to. So I just don't do it.

If you'd like to play with me, or just have a chat with me. You can find me on UB under the name of "Trifen22"

The Blog:

March 2:

Today I've received my bluff dollars. I will start playing from now on.

Just took a $2.86 pot in a PLO 6 max cash game. Such a shame I didn't run bluffware (forgot to) My bankroll is at $11.86 now. thats a 19% raise in one day! played some FL for about 20 mins,  netloss of 10 pennies. ended the day with $11.76.

---------------------------

March 3:

A new day to play more poker:-) playing some SSS right now, and so far i'm have a netwin of $0.25 in 5 hands. Also downloaded bluffware on my other computer!

Just got my bankroll over 12 dollar with this hand: http://bluff.com/099518c-5d

 Time for a  break, bankroll @ $12.40

back from the break, playing some FL  now.  bankroll over $13! cashed two nice pots in te FL game. it was a quite short session,  Netwin of $0.53 in 10 hands.  going to play some more SSS

dropped to $12.50, played a bad hand.

Ok, so I joined a table and decided to post the BB because I was in late 2. than this happend.

http://bluff.com/1a562c4-3f

moved up to $13.20 again

Ok so I was on about a max of 13.20-13.50  and than I had two extremely unlucky hands. or were they just bad played? analyze them  and leave a reply, I'd really like to know.  In my oppinion  hand 1  was bad luck and hand 2  was even more awfull because i pressed raise instead of fold actually, but  after the flop I simple couldnt fold it.

Hand 1: http://bluff.com/8f53550-74

Hand 2: http://bluff.com/hands/b773e59-e8.html

I agree the check sucks.

after this hell table I've managed to work my way back up to $13

---------------------------------------

March 4:

chilled out abit. joined a table 2 minutes ago and  made a netwin of $0.60 in the first hand.

played for about 40 minutes  like two hours ago. made a Netwin of $1.46! very nice result for such a short session (like 50 hands)  Am going to continue playing now!

reached $15.50, short ( but good, Netwin/hand $0.04) session which has me on 55% of my first goal: the double up!

reached over 16 dollar now! a 60% bankroll increase within 3 days is a pretty good result.  According to the 20 buy in Rule im ready to move up to 0.02/0.04. however I won't.   Simply because I'm happy with what I'm playing now, and I would prefer to have the double ammount of buy-ins, since I do not want to go broke.

time for a smoke (allthough I hate bad habbits) dropped back to $15.  gotta keep on paying attention! first time I'm having a bad session. gotta re-control my play and start winning again:-)  600 hands played and I'm aiming for a Netwin of $20   when I have 2000 hands played. I dropped abit under again, but Anything is possible!

Rough times, I dropped to 14, and now even to $13.50. I don't feel tilted or something, I just need some better cards again.

----------------------------------------------------------

March 5:  Rough weather after a long period of sunshine. Made my way up to $16 but dropped back $2.50 in two bad sessions. It's a new day and I feel like I can continue playing as I did before the bad sessions. Playing some SSS now!

It's getting worse guys,  $11.50 left.  Am going to play fixed limit untill I'm having better times. I might play some hands I souldn't played, but I'm pretty sure my focused game is pretty much leak free. I'm pretty much stuck where I was 3 days ago, but  anything can be rebuilt. just gotta keep on thinking possitive, and survive this downfall:-)

I'm back in the mood! after dropping to $11, I finally had a good session again, with a new, succesful element: 4 Table's.  It's SO much better for short stacking. I always played 4 tables on full tilt  while short stracking but I just didn't try it on UB, and it works perfectly. I'm going to play four tables from now on, since I can just wait for the cards I need, and follow my strat. Also the bad beats are over for now, Only have faced a Trip tens- trip kings. If I'll keep playing like this I expect to have 2k hands played by Sunday. Also my goal of $20 Netwin will be lowered to $10 and might even become $5.  let's hope the storm is over and the sun is back :-)  Bankroll @ $12.

Sweet session a few minutes ago! 25 hands, 6 all-in situations( lost 1), three times pocket rockets. wow that was awesome, back to $13.50   I personally liked this one the best, I knew the player was a donk since I've observed him before, and I so much liked this hand I had to graph it.

The 4-table strategy really works out well. I started the day with like $13, dropped to $11 and end it with $14.67. My goal was to reach 2k hands today(didn't know it went so fast on 4 tables)  but it's not gonna happen. the reason is I'm feeling tired. and you don't play good poker when your tired. So I'll do that tomorrow.  Instead ill watch some soccer and poker, allthough the dutch televised poker is not pretty awesome, best stuff I've seen were some highlights from the WSOP 10, but most of the stuff is low quality bull. anyways, cya tomorrow lads:-)

---------------------------------------------------------

March 6:

I don't feel pretty good. I pretty much blew all on my winnings again, and im back to $10.50. I've analized all the hands I've played today, and only 3 or 4 of them were played really bad. the rest of them are really overpairs, bad beats and more rubbish. I'm on a Netloss of $3 and I've read you should stop. so I did.  would love if somebody could check out my  hand history and give critism on it. Pretty much page 1 to 3 is colored Red.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 7:

Yesterday I had a chat with Presum3vil, and asked him about how he succeeded on the micro limits. his answer was as short as it was true:   Tight is right.   man I'm sure he is right.   by playing tight I managed to end a session of 350 hands with a netwin of $1.60.  normally, if I had a normal session I would have had this winnings in half of the hands.  but by following the SSS rules stricter, and playing more tight I think I will have more sucesses.  Thank you Pre :-)

So I started the day with  nothing more than I started with  5 days ago:  $10. I managed to blow my money to eight, and as you can read above I've worked my way back to $10. I'm on 2400 hands and I think (the "deal" says 2000 hands but on another part of the website it says 500 raked hands)  I will be able to receive my  second part of the free bankroll. Just have to contact Beanie. Which I will do later today.

Anyways, I'm happy that I'm back on the road. the bitch called Variance gave me another smack, and now I'm trying to work my way back up again,  any netwin now   is building my starting ammount.

Also something totally diffrent, Tonight is the $5k PokerListings freeroll @ Titan. I'm going to play in it, it has a field of 1300 players at the moment, but I'll expect it to be somewhat around 1700.  I hope I can follow up Doomsayer's  result, by taking the first place which gives the "reasonable" prize of $1050.

March -10-:

Hey guys, after a little absence I'm back. I've been very ill but I feel recovered now. I will start playing more from  now on.

My bankroll is at $28.50  (Beanie booked me over the second and third part of the bonus) and this makes me feel confused. Since UB moves from NL2  to NL10 (and doesn't have a NL5) I am not ready to move up to  NL10.  So I will stick with NL2  for now on, I  guess.

Peace out!

Well first of welcome to the site and the forums. Your grammar and English is just fine. Your going to do just fine with your $10 I started out pretty much the same way, with patience your BR will build and permit you to play other forms of poker that suit you better. Just take your time use good judgement with your free bankroll and with a bit of luck you will be well on your way in no time. Don't play games you simply can't afford you need to crawl, walk then run so to speak.

Again best of luck to you.

you should use player blogs.  It's helpful if someone wants to look at a few articles at their leisure rather than one longish thread.  Not sure what happened with your graph.

Hi Trifen

As Beanie and Matte mentioned the best place to Blog is found if you click your profile there is a My Blog tab. Works really well. You can have people follow your blog and it frees up the forum section a little. Nice to see you working hard on your game the mental side is just as important as the game itself. Play more when your feeling good, thinking positive and playing your A game. If you feel like your not focused or playing your A game its best to find something else to do. It takes a lot of patience to build up your BR from the initial $10, variance is a huge part of poker, it happens to us all. I think its how one handles variance that separates's the winners from the losers. If it bothers you and you feel frustrated that you AA or KK lost to a trash hand, then take a break until you can play without emotions getting in your way of making the right decision's. Only play when you can focus 110% on the action at the table. Just remember poker is 1 very long session made up 1 hand at a time. Poker will be here tomorrow, when its not your day you know it, just do your BR the favor and close the poker client on these days. Best of luck at the tables.
